Local Knowledge: Looking for a great place to spend your post adventure evening? Local knowledge is the way to go. Here are a few suggestions from the Long Beach Adventure Tours Team.

In and Around Long Beach

The City of Long Beach has a huge range of things to do, from drinking and dining, to sight seeing and fun activities. Our top picks include:

Catch the Free C Bus (the red passport line) from Pine Street in Downtown and work your way to the Queen Mary. The C Bus makes stops at Shoreline Village, The Pike, The Hotel Maya, and the Queen Mary. Our suggestion is to take a walking tour of the Downtown area, maybe stop in for a drink or treat along the way, and then catch the C Bus to Shoreline Village. A great, free resource for information about Long Beach history is the Historical Society of Long Beach's website at http://www.hslb.org. Shoreline Village has lots of great restaurants and bars, as well as views of the harbor. From there, you can get back on the bus and get off at the Pike, or move on to the QUeen Mary. You can access the Queen Mary for free by telling the bell hop that you are going to the Observation Bar on the 4th floor. From here, you will have commanding views of the Long Beach skyline, and an amazing sunset.

If you have your own transportation, it would be well worth your time to drive across the Vincent Thomas bridge. The view from the top affords stunning views of the port, massive container ships, and terminal island prison.

If you are looking for a relaxing cruise on the water, check out Harbor Breeze Cruises. They have a great little Harbor Cruise for $12 that lasts about an hour. You will see sea life, get a great history lesson, and great views of Long Beach. www.harbor-cruises.com
